Meet Jake Buman

Founder & Financial Advisor

With over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Jake focuses on making retirement planning approachable for everyone. By turning complex financial decisions into simple, actionable steps, clients can focus on the things in life that bring them joy.

Before opening his own firm in 2025, Jake spent more than a decade helping clients develop strategies that aligned their financial goals with their personal values. His favorite part of his work is seeing clients feel empowered to move forward once intimidating financial questions are simplified through thoughtful, in-depth planning.

Beyond the office, Jake is committed to his community. He serves as Vice President of the St. Joseph Food Program board and contributes to Elevate 920, an extension of the Giving Group that supports local charitable initiatives.

Jake and his wife stay busy with their four children, traveling often for volleyball tournaments. In his downtime, he enjoys golfing during the warmer months and ice fishing in the winter.

By founding his own firm, Jake has created an environment where he can provide clients with what matters most—personalized guidance, transparency, and the freedom to fulfill his fiduciary responsibilities with integrity.

Meet Cortney Curran

Investment Assistant

With five years of experience in the financial industry, Cortney Curran serves as an Investment Assistant, leveraging her expertise to ensure the firm’s operations run smoothly and efficiently. She is the crucial support structure for both the advisor and clients, managing day-to-day operations, scheduling meetings, updating accounts, and handling compliance details. Her dedication ensures that paperwork and logistical details are flawlessly managed, allowing the advisor to focus entirely on client strategy. Cortney’s favorite part of her role is supporting client relationships, which she achieves through meticulous organization, follow-through, and proactive problem-solving.

A lifelong advocate for service, Cortney spent the majority of her career in the non-profit world, managing church, school, and cemetery programs until 2020. This background in community service, combined with her bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Business and Human Services from St. Norbert College, makes her current role a perfect fit, blending her love for financials with a desire to help others.

Beyond the office, Cortney is passionate about issues impacting veterans, food insecurity, and homelessness. She is actively involved in coordinating the morning send-offs for the Old Glory Honor Flight of Missions of Honor, driven by her belief that all veterans deserve recognition. She also dedicates time to the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry, stocking shelves and providing support to neighbors experiencing homelessness through grant finding and creation of cold weather bags. Cortney loves her family, cherishes every moment spent with them, and enjoys reading in her downtime.
